JDC Central

The theme for JDC Central 2010, hosted by the Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University, is “Learning from the past; Changing for today; and Growing for tomorrow” which reflects how organizations need to learn as much as they can in order to survive. By changing their current practices and catering them to the markets at hand, they are able to succeed and grow despite the barriers that they face. |
Law and Business Students’ Association (LBSA)

The Ryerson Business Forum is a nonprofit, student-run initiative dedicated to enhancing the learning experience of our fellow students. Established in 1987, we held our first event on campus in the basement of our business building. Through increased sponsorship from Ryerson and the corporate community we were able to expand the event both in terms of size and quality. This year we hope to continue the RBF tradition and build relationships in order to bring the Faculty of Business closer to the corporate community and other programs within Ryerson. |

Sustainable Tourism Society (STS)

SThe Sustainable Tourism Society (STS) is a Ryerson student group which is committed to exposing the growing need for thoughtful and responsible tourism development.The travel and tourism industry is one of the largest industries in the world, with the potential of benefiting businesses, local communities, travelers and other such stakeholders through new developments, job creation and increased cultural awareness. However, there are negative aspects of the industry such as environmental degradation and social implications that need to be acknowledged so that methods can be implemented to avoid such consequences. The STS strongly believes in a positive approach to fostering awareness on these issues by promoting industry wide best practices that exemplify responsible initiatives being implemented within the industry. Through open dialogue, insightful research, enlightening lectures, and field trips to responsibly developed locations, the Sustainable Tourism Society aims to bring the idea of well-planned tourism destinations to the mainstream. |
