Naeem Hassen – President Major: Finance Minor: Marketing Year: 3rd Naeem is currently in his second year with the Ryerson Commerce Society. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Business Management where he helped oversee the operations of all business management student groups. His role was to ensure that lines of communication were open between the RCS and student groups as well as amongst student groups themselves, fostering a cohesive environment. As president, he wants to see more students involved as the events offered in the school continue to grow in value. There is an event catered to all students and it is his goal to help reach out to the student body and help provide them with resources they need. Naeem plans to use is prior experiences with the RCS as well as leadership roles in retail, customer service, and a business management internship to help achieve the Commerce Society’s Goals. Naeem is confident that this year will be great and will see much success as the RCS continues to build solid foundations for the future of the Ted Rogers School of Management. |

Onah Osemeke – VP Administration Major: Information Technology Management – Enterprise Systems Minor: Finance Year: 4th Onah is a fourth year student in the Information Technology Management Program. She served on the Ryerson Commerce Society as Director of ITM during the 2008-2009 school year. She is back for her second year on the RCS board as VP Administration. Onah is a active member of the Ryerson Community. Her strong work ethic and dedication encourages her to get involved in many different student initiatives at the University. Previously, she was a member of the ITM Students’ Association as Director of Social Affairs (07-08), Director of Marketing (08-09) and Financial co-ordinator. As a member of DECA Ryerson, she served as VP Graphics and Technology as well as participated as delegate. Onah also enjoys participating in various business case competitions. She has participated in Case IT, the Symcor ITM Case Competition and went to bring home the gold at DECA’s Interational Career and Development Conference competition in Anahiem, California. Her involvement at the school thus far will allow her to make connections with students in all schools of the Ted Rogers School of Management to help ensure that the Ryerson Commerce Society makes lasting connection with its general members and student groups. |

George Phu – VP Corporate Relations Major: Retail Management Minor: Finance Year: 4th George has been heavily involved with the Ted Rogers School of Management and Ryerson University community. Before becoming the Vice President of Corporate Relations of the Ryerson Commerce Society, he has held many other positions. With the Ryerson Business Forum he was a Luncheon Associate and the Co-Chairman. Last year he took on the role as the Course Union Director with the Ryerson Students’ Union, Secretary with the Ryerson Commerce Society and Residence Advisor at the Pitman Hall Residences. He has much experience and brings forth an energetic, hard-working, and responsible mentality to the Ryerson Commerce Society. His leadership will surely allow the Ryerson Commerce Society to grow its presence externally and sustain it’s future. He plans to work closely with all the members on the board and with the Ryerson community to ensure that they have yet another amazing year in the Ted Rogers School of Management. |

Michael DeCata – VP Finance Major: Retail Management Minor: Marketing Year: Third Michael is currently entering his third year as a full-time student at the Ted Rogers School of Management. He is majoring in Retail Management, and working towards a minor in Marketing. Along with his duties on the RCS as VP Finance, Michael is also a member of the Retail Students’ Association as the Director of Marketing. Within these two organizations he works to represent students and further eliminate the gap between all four schools at the Ted Rogers School of Management. With previous experience as a year representative on the RSA, Michael has successfully become a leader within the Retail Management program. Along with academics and student leadership, Michael has been able to excel within the Retail Industry. After 5 years of working in the industry, he has accrued a diverse amount of experience. He currently works for Loblaw Companies Limited as an Assistant Store Analyst. He also chose to diversify his experience this past summer by taking an internship position as a Junior Accountant for Rothmans Benson and Hedges. Michael has gained the essential leadership skills needed throughout his experiences to generate a positive impact as a leader, and hopes that through the RCS and RSA he can help improve the overall image of the School of Retail Management and the Ted Rogers School of Management. |

Jennifier Hileman – VP Internal Relations Major: Retail Management Minor: Human Resources Management Year: 3rd Jennifer Hileman is in her 3rd year in the Retail Management program. She is most interested in operations management as well as the recruitment and retention area of human resources. She currently is working for the retail office on a Pop-Up Retail project and in addition she has over 5 years of previous retail experience. Jennifer served previously as the Director of Retail Management on the Ryerson Commerce Society. While her new position as VP Internal Relations requires her to represent over 7000 commerce students across various areas of study, she continues to be actively involved in the retail program. She has served on the Retail Management Director Search Committee, the Retail School Council and was a member of the Michael Belcourt Lecture Series lead by the retail school. Jennifer has deemed her term a year for collaboration and plans to work with groups such as the Ryerson Engineering Student Society, RCS Cares, other universities such as McMaster as well as facilitating collaboration between student groups within the Ted Rogers School of Management. Through this collaboration she hopes to create respect, trust and growth within the Ryerson community that will continue past her involvement with the Ryerson Commerce Society. |
