The Ryerson Commerce Society elects directors from each school within the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University. These Directors work in the best interests of their students, and associated course unions/student groups in their respective schools.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Rochelle Atizado
Major: Global Management Studies
Minor: Finance
Year: 3rd
Rochelle Atizado is in her third year of the Business Management program. She is pursuing the Global Management Studies major and Finance minor. She chose these paths to be prepared for a career in the global business environment. Rochelle was recently employed by TD Bank Financial Group (TDBFG), but ended her service there to continue her French studies in Montreal, Quebec for the summer of 2009. Prior to working for TDBFG, Rochelle had three years of retail experience. In addition, she has volunteered for several non-profit organizations, including Sistering, Leaders Today (now “Me to We”), and the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. To continue her passion for social responsibility work, Rochelle has joined the RCS Cares Committee. She plans to give back to the community and the students, as well as encourage others to support great causes. Growing up, Rochelle participated in different athletic activities. Last year, she began an intramural volleyball team at Ryerson University and hopes to continue an active lifestyle. She feels extremely honoured to have been elected onto the Ryerson Commerce Society and is eager to make a difference within the TRSM. Rochelle is excited to work with fellow RCS members, other students, and faculty. She hopes to increase student engagement, which she truly believes will enrich their university experience – the same way it has already done for her. She has a readiness to learn and to perform, and is looking forward to an amazing year.
Darren Shivraj
Major: Finance
Year: Second
Darren is currently entering his second year as a full-time student at the Ted Rogers School of Management. As a motivated student pursuing a Finance major, Darren aims to move on to utilize the knowledge and skills he gains at Ryerson, in and outside of the classroom to reach extraordinary heights. Currently he sits on the board of directors for the Ryerson Commerce Society as a Director for the School of Business Management. As a director, but more importantly as a student, he is doing his best to fulfill his duty to provide TRSM students with the best experience that Ryerson has to offer. Darren has developed into a leader through being an active memeber in such organizations as DECA throughout highschool and university. As an aspiring entrepreneur he hopes to one day start and successfully operate many different business initiatives. When he was 16, Darren started his own business, teaching music to many individuals and families throughout his neighbourhood. With drive and determination he has overcome many challenges in life that have helped him develop as student and a person. Darren hopes that with his experience and the rest of the RCS board and executives, their will be many positive changes made throughout the year

Kingsley Deokie

Kingsley is currently entering his final in the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management. Over the past year he has been actively involved with the ITMSA, as the Vice President of Academic Affairs and most recently as the Vice President of Social Affairs.
Dev Singh
Major: Enterprise Systems and Organization
Minor: Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Year: 3rd
Dev Singh is currently a third year IT Management student enrolled in the co-op option. Over the past year he has gained industry experience working for 2 of Canada`s major banks and a computer software company that provides solutions for the transportation industry. He recently completed a term as the Director of Academic Affairs on the ITMSA before accepting his new role as Director of ITM on the Commerce Society. Dev is also pursuing an minor in entrepreneurship and innovation and hopes to one day partake in an entrepreneurial venture of his own.

HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT

Kristoph Karback
Major: Hospitality and Tourism Management
Year: 3rd
Kristoph Karbach is in his 3rd year in the Hospitality and Tourism Management program, after graduating with honors from George Brown College in 2007. Kristoph has been, and is currently involved in several student groups. In the 2008-09 year, he was the Corporate Relations member in the Hospitality and Tourism Management Course Union (HTMCU). Kristoph is currently a Director of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the Ryerson Commerce Society (RCS) and President of the Hospitality and Tourism Course Union. Kristoph has accumulated much experience in the Hospitality and Tourism industry by working in the accommodation and food and beverage sectors over several years. Most recently he has expanded his experience into the Tourism spectrum of the industry as a Boat Captain for Toronto Harbour Tours Ltd. With both positions and his experience, Kristoph plans to enrich the lives of HTM students on a program wide and school wide level, as well as increasing the value of their studies by expanding the presence of the HTM program and TRSM within the industry.
Christie Oreskovich
Major: Hospitality and Tourism Management
Minor: Human Resources Management
Year: 3rd
Christie Oreskovich is entering her third year in Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) with a minor in Human Resources Management. Christie has worked within various roles in the Hospitality industry for over three years. Based on her experience she has decided to pursue a career in Human Resources within the Hospitality industry, specifically focusing on Training and Development. Christie has been actively involved the the HTM program for the past two years, serving as a first year Representative on the Hospitality and Tourism Course Union (HTMcu) and most recently as Vice President of Marketing on the HTMcu. She successfully worked with her team to increase the awareness of the HTMcu and to produce a number of popular events. This year Christie is taking on the role of Director of Hospitality and Tourism Management on the Ryerson Commerce Society (RCS). Christie hopes to increase the value of the TRSM brand and specifically raise awareness and involvement within the HTM program. Christie will also be serving as Chair of RCS Cares. With this role she hopes to increase the awareness of corporate responsibility in the world of Business and to provide opportunities for the students within the TRSM to give back to the community.

RETAIL MANAGEMENT

Salome Greenberg
Major: Retail Management
Year: 2nd
Salome is a second year Retail Management student with a passion to get involved within the Ted Rogers School of Management. She is eager to network and connect with new people in her role as Director of Retail Management. Salome believes that all students should be involved at school because “it is a great experience and you will learn many lessons that will benefit you in the future”. Aside from her tasks on the RCS, Salome is also VP Social of the Jeux De Commerce – Central 2010 organizing committee.

Justin is a recent graduate of Ryerson University. He is really excited to be a part of the Ryerson Commerce Society. A graduate of Entrepreneurship and Management Justin has always fostered the entrepreneurial spirit and started his first company when he was in grade two. Since that time he has had a very exciting working life. He hosted a television show for three years prior to attending Ryerson University.
